There are great courses based throughout Scotland, however four main regions stand out.
Ayrshire – The west of Scotland holds two open rota courses, Royal Troon and Trump Turnberry, along with a host of other great venues.
East Lothian- Many argue that East Lothian and more specifically The Old Links at Musselburgh Racecourse is where golf originated. East Lothian is the home of many iconic links courses including Scottish open venue Guallane, North Berwick, The Renaissance Club, Craigielaw and The Glen.
Fife- Of course this is the home of the Old Course at St Andrews. However the region hosts many beautiful and challenging links courses including, Kingsbarns the Castle course, the Torrance Course, the Kittocks course, the New Course and The Dukes.
Highlands- Although there are no open venues present in the Highlands, there is an array of hidden gems including the world’s third oldest course Royal Dornoch and the challenging Castle Stuart which was designed by the team that created the Kingsbarn’s layout.
